Conditions We See

Evidence-informed acupuncture and Chinese medicine

At Altona Acupuncture, we work with patients across Melbourne’s inner west who are looking for a considered, evidence-informed approach to their health. Our practitioners are AHPRA-registered and draw on both classical Chinese medicine and contemporary clinical research to support you through a range of conditions.

Whether you’re navigating a fertility journey, managing chronic pain, or looking for support with women’s health, we take the time to understand your individual presentation and tailor your treatment plan accordingly.

How we approach your care

In Chinese medicine, two people with the same Western diagnosis can present very differently. That’s why we don’t look at conditions in isolation. We look at the whole picture: your history, your lifestyle, your patterns, and what’s driving your symptoms.

Your initial consultation includes a detailed case history, a traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis, and a treatment plan that may combine acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, or moxibustion depending on what’s most appropriate for you.

Grounded in research

Where possible, we reference current clinical research to help you make an informed decision about your care. Each of our condition pages includes links to peer-reviewed studies and systematic reviews so you can see the evidence for yourself.

We’re also honest about what acupuncture can and can’t do. If we don’t think we’re the right fit for your concern, we’ll say so and help you find someone who is.
